#Spotted 1987 Porsche 928
While a mid-engine roadster does not generate the same amount of torque as a rear-engine coupe, the question remains, with the adoption of the 9 nose, could this simple machine, earn the level of love and respect that the 9 has earned for decades? Will let the Spotted 9 community decide. Vote NOW in the frst-ever Spotted 9’s poll – “Does the Boxster deserve some 9 Love?”
Spotted 9s is welcoming to the 911 line, the 2011 Speedster. We think naming a Porsche a Speedster is slightly redundant not only because the name Porsche is synonymous with ‘speed’, but also because the earliest Porsche 356 was also named the Speedster…oh well.
Combining, the classic features of the well-known Speedster series with improved performance over the current 911 generation: The 3.8-liter flat six engine delivers 408 horsepower (hp), 23 hp more in comparison with the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet, yet is EPA rated the same at 19 mpg city / 27 mpg highway. The 2011 Porsche Speedster reaches 0-60 MPH in 4.2 seconds with Sport Chrono Plus and has a top-track speed of 190 mph (305 km/h) – all courtesy of Porsche Intelligent Performance.
Paying homage to the first Porsche model to bear the Speedster name – the 356 Speedster – the new Porsche 911 Speedster made its debut at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. Significantly different from other members of the 911 family, this two-seat roadster features a 2.36″ lower, more raked windscreen and the characteristic speedster double-bubble hardcover for the manual soft top. Helping to define the striking profile of the new 2011 Porsche 911 Speedster, the 1.73″ wide-body from the AWD 911 models makes the rear-wheel-drive only Speedster stand out even more. The production run of this special car will be limited to 356 units worldwide, with approximately 100 heading to the U.S., will we spot you in one of these limited edition blue bombshells?
As Spotted by the WorldCarFans.com team and Spotted9s, these images of the 2012 Porsche 911 (991) are among the most sought after images relating to spied images of the 2012 model. While this vehicle carries on the tradition of the 911, it calls for a definite upgrade to the numbers you call out in an emergency. That’s why for this spotting…somebody call 9-9-1!
From what you’ve read and seen about the 2012 911, do you think Porsche is getting better with age or straying too far from the formula?
Happy Halloween From the crew here at Spotted9s!
Despite the 2010 Halloween and Thanksgiving holidays being over, the team has continued to turn in supercharged sightings of the speeding pumpkins, better known as the Orgasmic Orange colored 911s. Take your pick by trim or era. Which ever way you choose to go fast in Orange, the Porsche force will always be with you.
A Spotted blast from the past, this classic Porsche 356 stars in a photo shoot on a northern California beach appropriately accented with a hollywood starlet posing as a hood ornament. While a Porsche 9xx never made the co-starring role in a James Bond film, this sighting is reminiscent of a scene from almost any Bond movie with a blonde, an exotic sports car and a beach.
While Porsche 911’s are not yet capable of space travel, spotting the Discovery’s safe landing at Cape Canaveral today was worth noting here on Spotted9s especially as the plans for winding down and retiring the fleet draw eminent. Let’s hope there are never such plans to retire the 9’s we love so much.
Zoe Saldana, the beautiful (when she’s not blue) co-star of the highest grossing film of all-time ‘Avatar’ was Spotted in Hollywood walking away from this other beauty a silver 911 Cabriolet.
The Spotted team thinks it may be time to either rename the blog or start a new one called Spotted 10’s starting with Zoe who is a 10+ in stature, intelligence and beauty, and oh yeah, the Cabriolet is nice too!
Why anyone would see a 9 and paint it gold (and possibly with gold) is beyond any of us a Spotted 9s; however, the folks at AllTop.com spotted this obscenity and we just couldn’t resist sharing it. This may have been a bit more palatable if the brick paver pattern were not present…naw, not even then.
Spotted 9’s is the absolute best destination for viewing, posting, and sharing one of the world’s greatest engineered and hottest sports cars ever manufactured. Sightings of this exotic auto in the most commonplace settings from grocery store parking lots to hotel driveways and more – The indelible Porsche 911’s (or as known by their internal names as 930s, 993s, 996s and 997s).
