#Spotted 1987 Porsche 928
Spotted on @TheRealMA, MotorAuthority.com is the luxury and performance leader in showcasing Porsche and hundreds of other leading performance vehicles. The rear view of this 2012 Carrera 4S Cabriolet was striking enough to make it on the return of Spotted9s.
Occasional departures from the essence of Spotted 9s seem to be well received if they are extraordinary, and today’s sighting is no exception. Introducing the 2012 Porsche Cayman S-Black. A limited edition production version of the Cayman was referred to by Road & Track Magazine as a more sinister version of the Cayman S line.
The Black trim has been introduced by the Porsche product team earlier on the 911 and Boxster S trims this year. Besides the black on black treatment throughout, the Cayman S Black also boasts 10 more horsepower under the hood than its non black counterparts, for a total of 330 bhp generated by a 3.4-liter 6-cylinder engine.
Even the interior materials are black, including leather seats, while the same color is used for the background of the instruments and the stitching of the board. The standard equipment includes Bi-Xenon adaptive headlights, LED daytime running lights, the Sport Design wheel, cruise control and a BOSE Sound Package Plus, which integrates audio, navigation system, speakerphone and the AUX, USB and iPod.
With only a reported 500 making their way stateside, simply getting behind the wheel will be sinful enough, imagine the repentance you’ll have to make after taking the Cayman S Black out of the garage and onto the road.
Spotted 9s is honored to share in the excitement of the 2011 New York International Auto Show by presenting the unveiling of the highly anticipated 911 GT3 R Hybrid.

Every once in a long while the history of the beloved and storied Porsche automobile has been eloquently captured in the pages of large coffee table books, posters, and calendars. On Friday March 4th Motorbooks Inc. released one of the most impressive historical perspectives and richest pictorials of Porsche in the book, Porsche: A History of Excellence. This newly Spotted book is authored by RandyLeffingwell, the best-selling Motorbooks author and extraordinary photographer, who has earned a reputation as one of the most diligent and renown Porsche authorities today. Randy dedicates the book to Porsche spokesman Bob Carlson, praising him as both a friend and “a colleague whom I deeply respect. He has supported encouraged, and aided my book efforts immeasurably for two decades,” according to Leffingwell. According to the release information we received, this book was important to publish because no other sports car has had a run like Porsche’s on the street or on the world’s racetracks. The Spotted 9s team’s experience with the book has been extremely enlightening as we go about the important work of chronicling and identifying vehicles we spot across the digital landscape, and throughout the towns, cities and countries around the world. Chapter one, as an example, delivers a joyfully biased overview of the Volkswagen roots of the Porsche origin. While chapters two through six are dedicated to the rich Porsche automotive racing heritage.
The book is broken down in chronological order, with each chapter teaching us something new about critical milestones leading up to today’s grand Porsche legacy. Chapter seven highlights takes the reader from 1970 to 1976 as the journey of the next generation began, which included the mid-engine mounted 914 Roadster. With twenty full-length chapters of Porsche history in text and photographs, this richly illustrated volume released on March 4th, 2011, tells a very complete story of the fabled Porsche marque. The renowned automotive writer, photographer and Porsche aficionado Leffingwell focuses his lens on each important model from the first 356 to today’s Cayman and 911. His pictures, in-depth analyses of each car, and interviews with key personnel all serve to comprise a comprehensive, compelling and often revealing history of the world’s premier name in sports cars. The book retails for $30 and is also available on Amazon.com.

Happy Halloween From the crew here at Spotted9s!
Despite the 2010 Halloween and Thanksgiving holidays being over, the team has continued to turn in supercharged sightings of the speeding pumpkins, better known as the Orgasmic Orange colored 911s. Take your pick by trim or era. Which ever way you choose to go fast in Orange, the Porsche force will always be with you.
In 2011, Spotted9s may have to be changed to Spotted 620s, because next year Porsche introduces a new beast to the tracks and the streets. Introducing the new 2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS. This land rocket comes loaded with 620 horsepower of raw energy propelling the carbon fiber hooded, gold-bedazzled wheeled, 2-person meteorite from 0-to-60 in 3.2-seconds.
Don’t just take our word for it. Spotted 9s also has the video to prove it.
A Spotted blast from the past, this classic Porsche 356 stars in a photo shoot on a northern California beach appropriately accented with a hollywood starlet posing as a hood ornament. While a Porsche 9xx never made the co-starring role in a James Bond film, this sighting is reminiscent of a scene from almost any Bond movie with a blonde, an exotic sports car and a beach.
Zoe Saldana, the beautiful (when she’s not blue) co-star of the highest grossing film of all-time ‘Avatar’ was Spotted in Hollywood walking away from this other beauty a silver 911 Cabriolet.
The Spotted team thinks it may be time to either rename the blog or start a new one called Spotted 10’s starting with Zoe who is a 10+ in stature, intelligence and beauty, and oh yeah, the Cabriolet is nice too!
